Changing RAM settings for vScope Core

Sometimes it might be necessary to change the RAM settings to optimize the vScope performance. This can be done by either:

Run installer

  1. Stop the vScope service
  2. Run the latest installer of vScope (found Here)
  3. Start the vScope service again

From the register

  1. Stop the vScope service
  2. Run regedit.exe and search for the key:
    – HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Apache Software Foundation\Procrun 2.0\vScopeServer\Parameters\Java
  3. Look for a key named option.
    eg.
    – Xmx4096m
    – XX:MaxPermSize=256m
  4. Change the key to the new RAM setting
    eg.
    – Xmx4096m (4GB) to -Xmx8192m (8GB)
  5. Save and re-start the vScope service
